This notice explains what Miami_Israel Collective collects, why we use it, when it may be shared, and the choices available to you.
Who we are and what this covers
Miami_Israel Collective is responsible for the personal information described in this policy. This policy applies to this website, our mailing list, community activities, event registrations, partnership inquiries and direct communications. A separately operated service or jointly hosted event may also provide its own privacy notice.
Information we collect
Depending on how you engage with us, we may receive your name, email address, phone number, organization, job title, professional interests, registration answers, attendance and engagement history, communication preferences, consent choices, and messages you send to our team. If you attend an event, photographs or video may also be created. Please do not send sensitive information unless it is requested and necessary for a specific service or accommodation.
Technical information
Our website host and content-delivery providers may process technical information needed to deliver and secure the site, including IP address, browser and device information, requested pages, referral information, approximate location derived from IP address, timestamps and security logs. If you accept analytics, Google Analytics also processes page views, engagement events, device and browser information, referral information and approximate location derived from IP address.
How we receive information
Information may come directly from you, from an event registration or form you choose to use, from a named partner supporting a jointly hosted activity, from an introduction, or from a service provider acting for us. We may also use professional information that you have made publicly available when it is relevant to a community or partnership relationship.
How and why we use information
We use personal information to respond to inquiries, provide requested registrations and community services, manage events and relationships, send communications you requested, document attendance, improve programming, protect our systems, maintain accurate records and comply with legal obligations. Depending on the activity and applicable law, we rely on your consent, steps requested by you, our legitimate interests in operating the community, or a legal obligation. We do not use personal information for solely automated decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects.
Event photography and video
Our events may be photographed or recorded for documentation, editorial coverage and promotion of Miami_Israel Collective activities. When appropriate, event notices or registration materials will provide additional information. You may contact us before or after an event if you have a concern about an identifiable image of you.
Mailing lists and direct communications
We send marketing or community updates when you have requested them or when another lawful basis permits the communication. When a form expressly names both Miami_Israel Collective and Israel Tech Week, your consent applies to communications from those two named organizations. A separate optional choice may allow Miami_Israel Collective to send selected partner updates. Every marketing email should provide a practical way to unsubscribe. You may also opt out by emailing us. An opt-out applies to marketing and does not prevent necessary operational messages about an event or service you requested.
Luma communications
When you follow our Luma calendar or register for a Luma event, Luma may send calendar updates, invitations and operational messages for the named calendar or event. Luma manages its own delivery and unsubscribe controls. Following or registering through Luma does not automatically authorize separate email, SMS or WhatsApp marketing from Miami_Israel Collective.
Brands and event partners
Some activities are jointly hosted with Israel Tech Week or another named partner. The registration page should identify the relevant event, calendar and hosts. Permission applies only to the organizations and communication choices identified when it is collected. Selecting partner updates allows Miami_Israel Collective to send selected partner-related content; it does not authorize us to share your information with a partner for that partner’s independent marketing unless the partner is identified and that sharing is separately disclosed or otherwise permitted by law.
How we share information
We may disclose only the information reasonably needed to website hosting, email, registration, form, security, event-operations and payment providers acting for us. A named joint host may receive information when this is disclosed at collection, needed to deliver the activity, or otherwise permitted by law. We may also disclose information when legally required, to protect people, rights or systems, or as part of an organizational transaction subject to appropriate protections.
No sale or targeted advertising
We do not sell personal information. We do not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising, and this website does not use advertising trackers. Google Analytics is used for audience and website-performance measurement only after consent. External websites and platforms may use their own technologies under their own privacy notices.
Cookies and website analytics
Our hosting and security providers may use essential technologies or technical logs needed to operate, protect and deliver the site. Google Analytics is optional and does not load unless you select “Accept analytics.” If accepted, Google Analytics may set first-party cookies and create aggregated reports about visits, page views, engagement and referral sources. You can decline analytics or change your choice at any time through “Analytics choices” in the footer.
External forms and services
This website links to Luma, Google Forms, LinkedIn, Instagram, partner websites and other external services. When you choose to open or submit information through those services, their privacy policies also apply. This website does not currently create visitor accounts or directly collect payment-card information.
Retention
We keep personal information only for as long as reasonably needed for the purpose described, including delivering events and communications, maintaining consent and suppression records, managing relationships, meeting legal obligations and resolving disputes. Retention periods vary according to the type of record and the reason it is held. When information is no longer needed, we take reasonable steps to delete, anonymize or securely retain it as required.
Security
We use reasonable administrative, organizational and technical safeguards appropriate to the information and our activities. Access should be limited according to role and need. No website, transmission or storage system can be guaranteed completely secure.
International processing
Because our community connects Miami and Israel and uses international service providers, personal information may be processed in the United States, Israel or other countries. Privacy protections may differ by location. Where required, we use an appropriate legal basis and safeguards for international transfers.
Your privacy rights
Depending on where you live and the law that applies, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, restriction or portability of your personal information; object to certain processing; withdraw consent; or appeal a decision about a request. You may unsubscribe from marketing at any time. We will not discriminate against you for exercising an applicable privacy right. We may need information to verify your identity and may retain information when an exception or legal obligation applies.
Children
Our website and professional community activities are not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us so we can review and address the request.
